Agency Seeks Partnerships with Continuing Education Providers

September 2024

The Oregon Real Estate Agency (OREA) has developed two new courses for licensees and is seeking partnerships with certified continuing education providers for course delivery.

Continuing education providers who choose to offer these courses will be responsible for issuing and tracking continuing education hours and certificates. OREA invites interested providers to contact us to discuss potential partnerships for delivering these valuable educational opportunities to Oregon's real estate professionals.

Property Management and Reconciliation Requirements

This course targets licensed Oregon property managers, brokers, and principal brokers engaged in property management. Led by Liz Hayes, Compliance Division Manager, it addresses common compliance issues identified during trust account reconciliation reviews. It focuses on clarifying frequently misunderstood requirements and addressing key areas where licensees often face challenges.

Participants will gain a clearer understanding of their administrative and fiduciary responsibilities as outlined in Oregon Revised Statute chapter 696 and Oregon Administrative Rules chapter 863.

The course can be in-person in the Portland and greater Mid-Willamette Valley or via Zoom. While the course is ideally suited for groups of 10 or more, there is currently no strict minimum. Due to the interactive nature of the content, an advance headcount will be required.

Keeping in Step with Real Estate License Law and Rule 2024

This course is applicable to all real estate licensees. Presented by Elli Kataura, Regulation Division Manager, and Meghan Lewis, Senior Case Analyst, this course provides insights into current and future laws governing the real estate profession. It also covers OREA's regulatory approach to professional real estate activity, including case studies illustrating the progressive discipline process.

At the end of the course, attendees will be able to describe and identify:

  • The laws and administrative rules relevant to professional real estate activity.
  • The attendees' responsibilities under laws and administrative rules relevant to professional real estate activity.
  • The government agency with primary responsibility for regulating professional activity in Oregon.

The course is offered via Zoom and available for classes of 25 or more students.
