March 2026
Your email address on file with the Oregon Real Estate Agency could be one of the most important details in your license record, but it is easy to overlook.
You are required to keep it current
Oregon real estate licensees must update their email address in eLicense within 10 days of any change. Failing to do so can result in disciplinary action.
Why it matters
Email is the Agency's primary way of communicating with licensees. That includes important reminders about renewal deadlines. If your email address is wrong, those messages won't reach you.
New license system requires valid email
The Agency is launching a new licensing system in 2027 that will require every licensee to have a valid, accessible email on file. Your email address will be how you access your account.
Two common problems we see
-
Typos: One wrong character means that emails never arrive.
-
Old company addresses: If you use an email provided by your brokerage, it may stop working when you change companies. Your email does not automatically change; you must update it in eLicense.
What to do
- Log in to
eLicense
- Check your email address. Make sure it's spelled correctly and not tied to a former employer.
The Agency strongly recommends using a personal email address that you own and control, not one tied to your current registered business. That way, no matter where your career takes you, your contact information stays accurate.
Take a few minutes to verify your email address today and save yourself headaches later.
