The Association or Real Estate License Law Officials (ARELLO) recently held its annual conference in Nashville, Tennessee. Oregon Real Estate Agency staff and Oregon Real Estate Board members have played an active role in this association because it serves as an excellent resource for sharing best practices and discuss issues and trends that are affecting its member jurisdictions.
Commissioner Steve Strode was elected to serve on the ARELLO Board of Directors for 2023. He is currently on the Membership Committee and previously served on the Fair Housing Committee.
We are also pleased to announce that the Agency was one of this year's Fair Housing Award winners for its work in implementing House Bill 2703. This bill, passed in 2021, updated the continuing education requirements for the Law and Rule Required Course (LARRC) to include a component on state and federal fair housing laws. Since fair housing issues continue to be an issue nationwide, the Agency, along with the Real Estate Board, took this charge to heart in order to update LARRC in a meaningful way. We appreciate ARELLO's recognition of this work.
