The Benson High School Health Occupations Partnership

The Partnership is a cooperative venture between the Benson High School Health Occupations Program and the Multnomah County Health Department, the Oregon Health & Science University and the Oregon Department of Human Services, Office of Public Health Division.

The mission of the Partnership is to actively support and enhance the Benson Health Occupations curriculum and to share responsibility for the development of tomorrow's health workforce and its diversification.

To help achieve this mission the Partnership is committed to sharing the resources of the Partner agencies to augment the classroom, experiential, and community-based learning activities of the Benson students.

In addition to helping support and develop quality education, the Partnership believes active efforts must be made to increase student understanding of the educational and career options open to them and to increase the availability of internship and scholarship opportunities for the students.

Because of diverse enrollment of the Benson Program and its track record and strength, the Partnership believes that in supporting the Program we will help make a difference in the health of a diverse group of students, their peers, their families, and their communities.

The Partnership believes the diversification of the health workforce and the educational programs which support its development is critical to the achievement of health and well-being in a multicultural society.
