1. 
Obtain written verification of at least 60 hours of formal training in Medical Terminology, Anatomy, Physiology, Concepts and Modes of Health Care Interpreting, and Health Care Interpreting Ethics from an OHA approved training center. Currently, OHA has approved Portland Community College CLIMB Center for Advancement and Oregon Area Health Education Centers. All other education will be approved on an individual basis.

2. 
Obtain verifiable evidence from an employer of 40 working professional hours as a health care interpreter.

3. 
Print out and complete the enrollment application. (PDF - Word)

4. 
Mail the completed qualification application, verification of training, and verification of work experience along with a check or money order for $25 made payable to OHA/OMHS to the following address:

5. 
Submit a request for qualification testing directly to an OHA approved testing center.

6. 
Take the qualification test.
