CURRENT GRANTEES
Regional Equity Coalitions
Funding has been provided to three regional equity coalitions to implement the following specific strategies to:
a) establish regional health equity coalitions by identifying and engaging community leaders, health care providers, local public health and non-traditional community-based partners;
b) provide infrastructure support and technical assistance to regional coalitions to develop regional blueprints for action;
c) create and support routine communication opportunities for sharing data and best practices information to local stakeholders, across regions, and with other stakeholders and state and local agencies; and
d) foster improved collaboration between community partners and DHS/OHA.
PAST GRANTEES
Community Listening Sessions
Grants were provided to each of the following organizations to conduct "listening sessions" designed to plan, coordinate, and host community listening sessions for communities of color, immigrants and refugees and tribal members. The Community Listening Sessions were conducted to capture individuals' personal experiences and stories of cultural competency in health care.

Health Programs and Policy Projects to Promote Health Equity and Eliminate Disparities in Communities of Color
Grants were provided to each of the following organizations to develop or maintain programming and promote equitable policies that eliminate health disparities and promote health equity, including health disparity and health equity community education, collaboration/community Partnerships, organizational capacity building and program development, and policy development.

Centro LatinoAmericano (Eugene) - $5,000 To enhance partnerships between Centro LatinoAmericano and Willamette Family Treatment Services to provide culturally appropriate health access to low-income Latino immigrants.
Josiah Hill III Clinic (Portland) - $5,000 To reduce the burden of environmental hazards affecting communities of color by providing access to information, tools, and resources through community leadership development and culturally competent outreach and education.
Mano a Mano Family Center (Salem) - $5,000 Educate 1,200 Latino Community members in Marion-Polk Counties about health disparities and health equity among Latinos.
Native American Youth and Family Services (Portland) - $5,000 To initiate the Spirit Horse Project, an Urban Indian horsemanship program to reconnect urban youth to this culturally specific Native traditional partnership with horses.
Umatilla Morrow Alternatives (Hermiston) - $5,000 To increase awareness and provide education about HIV, Hepatitis C, and sexually transmitted infections to the LGBT community in Morrow and Umatilla counties.
