Optional Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D)
Eligibility
- All PEBB benefit-eligible employees are eligible to enroll in AD&D coverage.
- AD&D coverage is an optional benefit.
Effective Dates
- If you enroll during Open Enrollment, your coverage becomes effective January 1 of the new plan year.
- If you enroll outside of Open Enrollment, your coverage becomes effective the first of the following month.
Benefit Description
Optional AD&D insurance:
- Provides financial security if an accident takes your life or causes you serious harm.
- Is available for you and your eligible dependents.
AD&D Coverage Options and Amounts
Important: If you want to purchase coverage for your dependents, you must also purchase coverage for yourself.
Employee Only coverage is $50,000 - $500,000 in increments of $50,000.
Spouse/Domestic Partner Only coverage is 50% of the employee AD&D coverage amount.
Child Only coverage is 15% of the employee AD&D coverage amount for each child.
Spouse/Domestic Partner and Child(ren) coverage is:
- 40% of the employee AD&D coverage amount
- 15% of the employee AD&D coverage amount for each child
Cost of Coverage
Employees are responsible for paying the full premium amount for optional AD&D insurance coverage. The policies pay for covered losses if you’re a PEBB-eligible member and your premium payments are current at the time of the loss.
