Update - Aurora State Airport Runway Closure Scheduled for 5/21

Update 5/1 - To complete the final markings application from last year's runway rehabilitation project, the runway at the Aurora State Airport will be closed for part of one day on Thursday May 21st.

In the summer and fall of 2025, the runway was fully repaved to repair extensive cracking and surface delamination, as well as correct non-standard grading of the crown. Airfield markings are applied on fresh asphalt in 2 coats, and due to challenges planning for this weather dependent work, the final markings application was pushed to this spring.
