Centralized Hotline Screening
One of the five central goals of the Unified Child and Youth Safety Implementation Plan is to make sure that reports of child abuse are answered quickly, safely and completely.
National data proves more families are assessed and eligible for support services in a centralized hotline model. Specially trained child welfare workers, known as screeners will answer calls on the Oregon Child Abuse hotline. All of the screeners will receive the same training. The goal of this project is that anyone who reports child abuse will receive the same help, and the report will be screened the same way.
The Hotline will be an important resource available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year beginning April 8, 2019.
