The Sustainable Procurement Program was built
within DAS Procurement Services to ensure that sustainability criteria
are integrated into statewide procurement price agreements, procurement
processes and other agency procurement practices. We look to partner
with state agencies, local governments, suppliers and industry experts
to help the State of Oregon meet its sustainability goals.
DAS
Procurement Services strives to look at all contracts, tools, and
processes to identify opportunities that will lead to more sustainable
procurement outcomes. We encourage our vendors, manufacturers, and
global supply chains to make significant changes towards offering more
sustainable product and service options and increasing sustainable
practices.
Our Program is Focused on the Following Areas:
- Implementing statute, executive orders and rules concerning sustainable procurement.
- Implementing, maintaining, and updating the DAS statewide Sustainable Procurement Policy.
- Actively reviewing statewide price agreements and integrating sustainability criteria into specifications, solicitations, and contract language.
- Partnering with DAS Office of Procurement Equity on supplier diversity and inclusion.
- Supporting
state agencies and ORCPP members in implementing sustainable
procurement practices through tools, guidance, technical support,
communications, and training.
- Reporting on sustainable
procurement successes and tracking performance metrics (e.g., spend on
and impact from sustainable procurement).
- Fostering outreach and communications to the procurement, purchasing and supplier communities.
