How to Request Out of State Workers' Compensation Insurance Coverage

How to Request and Change Out of State Workers' Compensation Insurance Coverage:

For those agencies that use Workday

  • The employee completes the Working Remotely process in Workday. Refer to statewide Human Resources policy 50.050.01 Working Remotely.
  • The agency Human Resources Partner requests an out-of-state workers’ compensation insurance request by completing an online request form.
  • DAS Risk Management will assess the appropriate policy for the employee.
  • The employee, their manager and agency HR Partner will receive an email confirmation when insurance is placed.
For agencies that don't use Workday
  • Refer to statewide Human Resources policy 50.050.01 Working Remotely.
  • The employee requests to work out-of-state following their agency's internal process.
  • The agency Human Resources Partner requests an out-of-state workers’ compensation insurance request by completing an online request form.
  • DAS Risk Management will assess the appropriate policy for the employee.
  • The employee, their manager and agency HR Partner will receive an email confirmation when insurance is placed.

Making a change or ending out-of-state workers' compensation insurance

Notify DAS Risk Management by email at risk.management@das.oregon.gov for any of the following:

  • The employee is no longer in state service and out of state workers compensation insurance can end
  • The employee has ended their out of state work and is now working in Oregon
  • The employee has accepted a position with a new agency and a new request will need to be made from that agency
  • There has a been a change in the address, start or end date for the employees out of state work
