The 120-day extension request option for facilities regarding those CNAs who came to Oregon during the pandemic under emergency authorization is ended. These CNAs may work for an additional 120 days from the date of their most recent contract date or the date of their direct hire if their name appears on this list of CNAs able to work an additional 120 days. The 120-days starts the date of their most recent contract date or the date of their direct hire.
However, OAR 851-062-0020 states that an individual who has never been certified as a CNA in Oregon and is seeking CNA 1 certification may perform the authorized duties of a nursing assistant at a licensed nursing facility for up to 120 days from the date of hire if the individual has successfully completed a Board-approved nursing assistant level one training program. No application from the licensed nursing facility is required.
