Risk Reduction Kit Train-the-Trainer Series
Bringing Fire Safety Education to Your Community
The
OSFM Risk Reduction Kit train-the-trainer series continues Spring 2026! This comprehensive kit equips Oregon fire agencies with hands-on tools and guidance to educate their communities about fire safety. Topics covered include:
- Cooking Safety
- Heating Safety
- Electrical Distribution Safety
- Burn Prevention
Each kit contains
visuals, props, and a presenter’s guide, designed for various audiences, including adults, young adults, older youth, younger youth, and seniors. Props include mini cooking pans, casserole dishes, extension cords, chimney sweep tools, dish towels, oven mitts, throw rugs, and power strips, providing an engaging, interactive learning experience.
How to Receive Your Kit
To receive your Risk Reduction Kit, fire agencies must attend a three-hour in-person regional training session to ensure that each department is fully prepared to use the kit effectively in their community.
Who Can Attend?
All Oregon fire agencies with an
FDID or DCIN are eligible to receive a kit and participate in training. Each training session can host up to
30 agencies at regional locations, but there is no limit for Salem headquarters sessions.
