We are looking for broad feedback to better understand if the information in the
draft vision document reflects how organizations across Oregon view the state’s water infrastructure challenges. This fall and winter the Governor’s Natural Resources Office and state agencies will be listening, learning, and gathering information about the 100-Year Water Vision and its associated goals and problem statements, while engaging leaders across the state to learn more about water in Oregon. In addition, we’ll be working to increase our understanding of data and gaps, and funding coordination needs to prepare for future funding requests.
Objectives this fall include:
Current and future water leaders can share why water is important, the water challenges their communities faces, and opportunities for our water future. Each Community Conversation will be a half-day grounding in the Vision’s goal areas (Health, Safety, Environment, and Economy), and a facilitated dialogue to discuss the unique water challenges and opportunities across Oregon’s regions.
Local community leaders who have an interest in water, want to learn more about Oregon’s 100-Year Water Vision, and would like to have a hand in shaping the Vision. Examples:
Space is limited! Register for a Community Conversation.
We need good water information to make water decisions. This workshop will clarify the key information gaps, and what we do know relative to key water management decisions. Examples include current infrastructure conditions, water availability, and infrastructure funding.
People who regularly access and use water data to make decisions about built and natural water infrastructure. Examples:
One full-day workshop in early November in Salem. Space is limited! Register for the technical workshop.
While the actions above are in progress, the State is partnering with Oregon Consensus to conduct neutral interviews with a broad range of organizations who have an interest in Oregon’s water future, as well as tribes and local governments.
