The Public Records Advisory Council’s bill, SB 1506 (formerly LC 166), seeking to change the way the Public Records Advocate is hired, declare the independence of the Advocate's office, and make other changes to support the Council's role to propose changes to the public records law has been assigned to the Senate Committee on General Government and Emergency Preparedness during the 2020 legislative session.
