Please do not send any mail to this office. All mailed-in transactions should be sent to DMV Headquarters:


This office offers drive test appointments. Drive tests at DMV are given by appointment only. You may schedule a testing (not an issuance) appointment using DM2U, or by calling the office number above. If appointments are full, check back daily for new appointments. You may schedule a drive test using a 3rd Party Tester or at a DMV office.

You must show proof of insurance before a drive test. You can use:
  • A valid insurance card;
  • A current vehicle liability insurance policy or binder; or
  • A DMV Certificate of Self-Insurance showing you as the owner of the vehicle. 
Note: If there is inclement weather, drive tests may be canceled or traction devices may be required. Please confirm your drive test using DMV2U or calling the office number above. DMV offices are closed for Statewide Holidays​.​

Going North (on I-5 N)

  • Travel north on I-5 from Eugene/Albany.
  • Take Exit 256, OR-213 toward Silverton.
  • Turn RIGHT onto Market St NE (OR213).
  • Turn RIGHT onto Lancaster Dr NE.
  • The DMV office is located on the RIGHT, just after light on D St.
  • 955 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem, OR 97301.

Going South (on I-5 S)

  • Travel south on I-5 from Portland/Woodburn.
  • Take Exit 256, OR-213 toward Willamette Town Center.
  • At the end of the off ramp, turn LEFT onto Market St NE (OR-213).
  • Turn RIGHT onto Lancaster Dr NE.
  • The DMV office is located on the RIGHT, just after light on D St.
  • 955 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem, OR 97301.

Going West (on OR-213)

  • Travel west on Silverton Rd NE (OR-213) from Silverton.
  • Turn LEFT onto Cordon Rd NE.
  • Turn RIGHT onto Sunnyview Rd NE.
  • Turn LEFT onto Lancaster Dr NE (OR-213).
  • The DMV office is located on the RIGHT, just after light on D St.
  • 955 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem, OR 97301.

Going West (on OR-22 W)

  • Travel west on OR-22 from Stayton/Aumsville/Sublimity.
  • Take Exit 1B RIGHT for I-5 North toward Portland.
  • Take Exit 256 (OR-213) toward Silverton.
  • Turn RIGHT onto Market St NE (OR213).
  • Turn RIGHT onto Lancaster Dr NE.
  • The DMV office is located on the RIGHT, just after light on D St.
  • 955 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem, OR 97301.

Going East (on OR-22 Willamina-Salem Hwy)

  • Travel east on OR-22 from Coast/Dallas.
  • After passing over the West Salem Bridge into Downtown Salem, keep straight on Center St NE.
  • Go approx. 2.9 miles on Center St NE.
  • Turn LEFT onto Lancaster Dr NE.
  • The DMV office is located on the LEFT, before you reach the light on D St.
  • 955 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem, OR 97301.​
