Next month State Sen. Sara Gelser and OHA Director Lynne Saxton will continue with their listening tour. Since September, they have been traveling throughout the state so that they can listen, first-hand, to individuals who have experienced the Oregon behavioral health (mental health care and addictions) system. To date, they have hosted meetings in Klamath Falls, La Grande and Bend. In addition to upcoming meetings in Astoria, Albany and Portland, there will be a virtual town hall meeting on Nov. 30. All the feedback, input and questions raised at each meeting is collected and compiled. Gelser and Saxton will use this information to bring access to better behavioral health care to all regions in Oregon and increased data-driven outcomes. A summary report will be available in January to guide OHA’s behavioral health integration efforts. For more information on the upcoming meetings, go to www.oregon.gov/oha/amh/Pages/strategic.aspx
