State Summer Learning Grants

Overview

HB 4082 provides $30 million for Summer Learning Grants to school districts, charter schools, and ESDs for the summer of 2024. These grant funds are to be focused on serving historically underserved students for applicants with pre-existing plans for summer programming while prioritizing collaboration with community partners and tribal nations.

HB 4082 also supports a plan for the future by creating a study that provides recommendations for a sustainable state-funded summer learning plan, ensuring equitable access and funding mechanisms, proposing outcome metrics, streamlining grant administration, incentivizing partnerships, and establishing best practices.

State Summer Learning Grant Office Hours
- Purpose: Optional space to ask questions, collaborate, or grapple with any problems of practice with ODE staff and colleagues. This meeting may be used to focus on a specific topic as needed.

Past State Summer Learning Grant Reports

2021 Summer Learning Grants Final Report
Upon the completion of the 2021 Summer Learning Grants, ODE was required to submit a final report to the legislature containing the program data and financial data collected from grantees. The final report as submitted to the legislature on 12.10.21 can be found below, including the final report submitted by the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) for the grant funds they administered under this program.
2022 Summer Learning Grants Final Report
As part of the K-8 Enrichment and High School Academic Support Grants administered by ODE, grantees were required to submit final finanical and program reports. The results of these reports are found below.
