Veteran Designation

Make a Request

DMV will add the word "Veteran"  on your driver license, instruction permit or ID card when you make the request and meet the qualifications.

To Qualify/Add Veteran Designation

• Be a United States veteran, as defined in ORS 408.225;
• Request that DMV add the designation at the time of issuance;
• Provide proof of veteran status DD214/DD215 or a Summary of Benefits Letter issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs) indicating honorable discharge; and
• Meet all other Oregon requirements for a driving privilege or identification card including payment of the original, renewal or replacement fee.
