Overview

This page provides information about the most common driver license and identification card related fees.

Citizen or Permanent U.S. Residents: Oregon Driver Licenses and Identification Cards are valid for an 8 year period. The length of permits and endorsements varies.

Temporary Residents: A temporary resident qualifies for a limited term issuance. The expiration date for a limited term card is based on the cardholder's authorized length of stay in the U.S. If the length of stay is indefinite, the card will be valid for a one-year period. Please refer to the section below for Limited Term fees.

Renewals

If your card is expired for more than one year, you cannot renew. You must meet the requirements and pay fees for Original Applications. For driving privileges, this includes passing all tests.

You must pay test fees prior to taking any test, while licensing fees are collected after all requirements are met. Please be prepared to make separate payments for testing and licensing fees.
