Oregon Public Library Statistics
Data Spreadsheets

Data spreadsheets are in Excel format.  To download, click on the link, and if you have Excel on your computer, the spreadsheet will open.  Simply save the spreadsheet to your own computer and you can then work with it as you choose.  If you do not have Excel, contact Library Development at (503) 378-2525 for a copy in another format, or request a custom spreadsheet.

The data collected is from legally established public libraries for the indicated state fiscal year. Public library directors should contact Ann Reed at ann.reed@state.or.us or (503) 378-5027 to get access to their surveys to fix any data to the most current spreadsheet.

Custom Spreadsheets / Tables
If you need a custom table or spreadsheet, please contact Ann Reed at (503) 378-5027, email: ann.reed@state.or.us.  Please note that the most current figures may not have undergone the quality checks that the official federal PLSC statistics have.

Data Tables
To print a table from an Excel spreadsheet, first highlight the area you want to print.  Then on the File menu, point to Print Area, and then click Set Print Area.   When you save the document, your selection is also saved.  Table production ceased with the 2003-2004 tables in favor of doing custom spreadsheets as needed.

Effective Tax Rate Tables
This information is derived from reports on library income by source, reported by Oregon public libraries, and reports on Oregon property tax collections from the Oregon Department of Revenue.*  The purpose of these reports is to present information on how local taxpayers in Oregon are supporting public library services with local property taxes.  Property taxes are, by far, the greatest source of support for public library services in Oregon, and may determine, to a large extent, the quality of public library services Oregonians receive.
