Unemployment insurance fraud is a national issue, and combating fraud is a priority for the Oregon Employment Department. We need your help to investigate, identify and prevent fraud.

Report Unemployment Insurance Fraud

If you have information about unemployment insurance fraud, please complete our Suspected UI Fraud Investigations Referral Information form or call 503-947-1995 or 1-877-668-3204. We review all tips that we receive, regardless of how much information you provide. The more details you can give when reporting fraud, the more it will help us investigate.

There are important details that will help us identify the person in our records. These include the name of a person you think might be associated with fraud, a description of the fraudulent activity, and the person’s current or former address, age, date of birth, and Social Security Number.

If you report someone is working full time while receiving benefits, please include the name and address of the employer and how long the person has been working for them. This will help us review claim and wage records to determine fraudulent activity.

We keep the information you provide confidential, and you can ask to remain anonymous when reporting fraud. Due to confidentiality laws, we cannot share with you the results of any investigation based on the information you provide. We appreciate your help.

Report Job Refusals

To be eligible to receive benefits from the Unemployment Insurance Program, claimants must accept offers of full-time, part-time, and temporary work. If claimants refuse a work offer, we can deny their benefits.

If you have information that someone receiving benefits has refused an offer of work, please complete the Employer Reported Job Refusal form so we can investigate.

Use the form to give us information about people who have:
  • Refused an offer of work
  • Failed to report to work after being hired
  • Chosen not to return to work when recalled
We review all tips that we receive, regardless of how much information you provide. The more details you give us, the more it will help us investigate. We appreciate your help.
