Steps to opening an account

  1. Find a participating bank or credit union in your neighborhood. Bank On Oregon has various partner branches. You can find a participating bank or credit union in your area by clicking here. The bank or credit union staff will answer your questions and help you open your new account.
  2. Ask about opening a Bank On Oregon account. Our partner branches have special checking and savings programs designed just for you. They will answer your questions and help you open an account that fits your needs.
  3. Bring identification. You will need current government-issued identification. Some banks and credit unions may accept other IDs, as well. Most banks and credit unions will request a second form of ID.
  4. Open your new account. The employee at the bank or credit union will help you through the entire process. Also, the employee can show you how to sign up for money management training classes to help you get the most from your new account.
