About Bank On Oregon

Everyone deserves access to safe, affordable banking

Millions of Americans don’t have checking accounts because of minimum balance requirements, high or unpredictable fees, past banking challenges, or difficulty meeting ID requirements. Without access to affordable banking, people must rely on costly services such as check cashers, payday lenders, and money orders. This makes it harder for them to save, pay bills, and build long-term financial security.

Bank On certified checking accounts remove these barriers. They feature low or no monthly fees, no overdraft fees, and tools that help people manage their money with confidence.

Banks and credit unions across Oregon offer Bank On certified checking accounts. These accounts meet nationally recognized standards for affordability and consumer protection. They are certified by the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund, the nonprofit that coordinates the nationwide Bank On movement.

Our mission

Bank On Oregon works to ensure that all Oregon residents have access to safe and affordable bank and credit union accounts.
