DCBS Tribal Partners

The purpose of this page is to encourage staff and community to acknowledge the tribal land on which we live, learn, and work.

At the Department of Consumer and Business Services, we recognize the collaborative relationship developed between state government and tribal communities advanced by the Office of the Governor. We approach our work with the nine federally recognized tribes by following our core values to protect and serve Oregon’s consumers and workers while supporting a positive business climate as well as the values of the Legislative Commission on Indian Services (LCIS).

LCIS was created by statute in 1975 to improve services to Oregon’s indigenous communities. Its 13 members are appointed jointly by the Senate president and the speaker of the House to a two-year term. LCIS members select their own officers to serve one-year terms of office.
