Specimen Requirements and Collection Protocol
Sample type: Environmental swabs (e.g. boot swabs, drag swabs), cloacal swabs, fluff, chick box papers, meconium, fecal material/litter, and organ samples.
Environmental swabs, cloacal swabs, and chick box papers must be received on ice (2-8º C).
Shipping Requirements
On ice - do not freeze - recommend ship overnight
Fluff samples: ship at room temperature
Additional Information
Non-negatives may be confirmed by NVSL for identification/serotyping prior to release and may incur additional charges.
If you find a sick or dead bird, don't touch it, report it!
