With its high plateau and lush river valleys, a variety of crops, and vegetable seed that are world renowned are fund here. The Rogue Valley is home to some of the State’s most notable tree fruits, including peaches and pears. Wine grapes and olives are also grown in this region.
Oregon schools, child care centers, and summer food programs (otherwise known as school food sponsors) serve a variety of foods in their meal programs, including dairy products, whole grains, meat, seafood and fruits and vegetables. Many of these products are available in Oregon and reimbursable under the Oregon Farm to School Program.
