Welcome to NERIS+

The Oregon State Fire Marshal (OSFM) is piloting NERIS+, a new statewide incident reporting system built in partnership with the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) and the Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI). Based on the new national reporting framework, NERIS+ is designed to modernize fire data collection and improve how Oregon’s fire service reports and analyzes incidents.

This page is your home for everything related to NERIS+, from rollout timelines and training materials to system updates, FAQs, and eventually the login for access.

We’re continuing to refine the process and data requirements. As development continues, this page will be updated with important dates, training resources, and login access when available.

What to Expect

Single Submission, Dual Reporting
Upon submission of local incident reports, incident data is automatically shared with both Oregon and the national NERIS platform.
Enhanced Data Collection
NERIS+ will capture more detailed incident data, helping Oregon better understand and address local fire risks.
Streamlined Compliance
Agencies can meet both state and national reporting requirements through one system—no more duplicate entry.
Flexible Access
NERIS+ will support third-party software as well as a direct-entry option for agencies that need it.

Things local fire agencies can do now

1. Watch The Gated Wye for the "Ready-Set-Update!" notice

This will be the signal for agencies to log into the state repository (regardless of reporting method) and confirm that their Agency Information is up to date for NERIS nodal creation.

2. Log into the State Repository

Review your agency's locations and vehicles, and call signs to ensure everything is current.

3. Review your list of agency users

Deactivate the status of any users no longer with the agency.
Add new users as needed.
