During the month of October, Marine Board staff will be hosting 10 Open Houses throughout the state. Come meet and talk to agency staff who can address any questions about:

  • boating safety and education
  • rules and policies
  • access facilities
  • marine law enforcement
  • fees and budget
  • outfitter and guides
  • other boating interests.

Agate Lake

  • UPDATE: Paddlers and small boats can launch from the county boat ramp. Use caution when launching.

Anthony Lake

Applegate Reservoir

  • UPDATE: Hart-Tish boating access is closed for the season. The Copper boat ramp is out of the water. Paddlers can carry down the ramp to launch. French Gulch has more than 40 feet of water at the bottom of the ramp.

Blue River Reservoir

  • UPDATE: The water level is approximately 26 feet below the end of Lookout boat ramp. Saddle Mountain boat ramp has approximately 9 feet of water at the bottom of the boat ramp.
  • UPDATE: Mona campground and boat ramp are closed for the season.

Brownlee Reservoir

  • UPDATE: The Hewitt Park boat ramp dog leg is nearly exposed. The ramp and no-services camping will remain open. The rest of the park will close on October 1, 2022.
     
  • UPDATE:  Construction of the new shop at Hewitt Park upper boat launch parking area is starting this month. The existing trailer was removed. Construction is anticipated to be completed by the end of October. All office activities are being moved to the Park's office at the Baker County Courthouse until further notice. Boaters and campers are asked to place their day-use fee in one of the fee boxes on site. As of September 15, reservations for 2023 must be made at the park office by calling 541-524-7480.
     
  • The Holcomb Park boat ramp is closed to all use. The park will close on October 1, 2022.
     
  • Spring Recreation main boat ramp and dock are out of the water.

  • The Farewell Bend State Park boat ramp has approximately six feet of water at the bottom of the boat ramp. 
     
  • Moonshine Mine boat ramp has approximately 23 feet of water at the bottom of the boat ramp.

Campbell Lake

  • Campbell Lake Campground and boat ramp are closed due to the Bootleg Fire.

Cape Meares Lake

  • Extensive aquatic plant growth throughout the lake may cause navigation issues for some boaters.

Carmen Diversion Reservoir

  • The reservoir and U.S. Forest Service Road 750 will be closed through April 11, 2023, to allow Eugene Water and Electric Board to address sinkhole concerns.

Clackamas River

Columbia River

  • UPDATE:  Rooster Rock State Park boat ramp is closed. The channel to the Columbia River is not passable for motorized boats. Paddlers, use caution when entering and exiting the channel. You may need to drag your boat across the mud at low water levels.
     
  • Mayer State Park boat ramp is in poor condition. Boaters are launching from the gravel shore. Please be patient when launching, retrieving and parking. 
     
  • Port of Cascade Locks pumpout and the dump station is out of service. The next available equipment downstream is at M. James Gleason and upstream is at Port of Hood River.
 

Cottage Grove Reservoir

  • Wilson Creek boat ramp is closed for the season.
  • The Lakeside boat ramp has over 30 feet of water at the bottom of the boat ramp.

Cougar Reservoir

  • Slide Creek is closed for the season.
  • UPDATE: The water level is approximately 55 feet below the bottom Echo Park boat ramp.

Crane Prairie

  • UPDATE: Access is closed due to the Cedar Creek fire. The reservoir is 70% full.

Crescent Lake

  • UPDATE: The reservoir is 8 percent full. Crescent Lake campground and the day-use main boat launch are unusable due to low water. The low water boat launch to the west of the main launch is open.

Crump Lake

  • The lake is closed.

Crystal Creek

  • Malone Springs is located approximately 40 minutes northwest of Klamath Falls. The small boat ramp is perfect for kayaks, canoes and standup paddleboard to paddle into Klamath Lake via the Upper Klamath Canoe Trail. There are opportunities for bird watching, as this recreation site is part of the Klamath Birding Trail.

Cultus Lake

  • UPDATE:  Access is closed due to the Cedar Creek fire.

Davis Lake

Detroit Lake

  • Hoover and Cove Creek are closed for the season.
     
  • Southshore boat ramp is out of the water.

  • UPDATE: State Park G boat ramp has approximately seven feet of water at the bottom of the ramp.

  • UPDATE: Mongold low water ramp has more than 50 feet of water at the bottom of the boat ramp.

Dexter Reservoir

  • UPDATE: Dexter State Park is open.
  • Lowell State Park has approximately seven feet of water at the bottom of the boat ramp. Please avoid power loading your boat on and from your trailer. Power loading and unloading can damage the boat ramp's lower portion, causing expensive repairs and permitting.

Diamond Lake

  • UPDATE: Umpqua National Forest has detected an increase in algae blooms. South Shore boat launch and day use area. South Shore also has an increase of elodea (water weeds) and can be problematic for boaters. Thielson View has low level of algae and water weeds and is a good alternative to South Shore. Dog Lake

  • Dog Lake boat ramp and docks are open and usable.

Dorena Reservoir

  • UPDATE: Harms Park boat ramp is closed. 

  • Baker Bay boat ramp has more than 30 feet of water at the bottom of the boat ramp.

Emigrant Lake

  • Emigrant Lake North and West boat ramps are closed. The reservoir is at 4% capacity.

Estacada Lake

  • UPDATE: Milo McIver Park has reopened for river and lake boating access.  State Parks and Recreation staff continue to clean up from the fire. Portions of the park are closed. Milo McIver State Park - Oregon State Parks

  • NEW: Timber Park's nonmotorized boat launch closes October 15 for the season.

Fall Creek Reservoir

  • Cascara and Winberry boat ramps and swim docks are closed.

  • UPDATE:  North Shore boat ramp has more than 30 feet of water at the bottom of the boat ramp. To keep this boat ramp open, only drive in authorized areas.

Faraday Lake

  • The lake, park and surrounding areas are closed for construction. Parking near the bridge and access to all areas across the bridge (Southeast of the Clackamas River) are closed. The area is anticipated to be reopened in 2023. Faraday Lake (portlandgeneral.com)

Fern Ridge Reservoir

  • UPDATE: Perkins Peninsula boat ramp has approximately three feet of water at the bottom of the boat ramp. Please avoid power loading your boat on and from your trailer. Power loading and unloading can damage the boat ramp's lower portion, causing expensive repairs and permitting.

  • UPDATE: Richardson Park and Orchard Point have approximately six feet of water at the bottom of the boat ramp. Please avoid power loading your boat on and from your trailer. Power loading and unloading can damage the boat ramp's lower portion, causing expensive repairs and permitting.

Foster Reservoir

  • NEW:  Calkins and Gedney Creek boat ramps are closed.
     
  • NEW:  Lewis Creek Day Use is closed.

  • NEW: Sunnyside boat ramp has approximately nine feet of water over the bottom of the boat ramp. Please avoid power loading your boat on and from your trailer. Power loading and unloading can damage the boat ramp's lower portion, causing expensive repairs and permitting.

Fourmile Lake

  • Fourmile Lake Campground and boat ramp will be closed through December 2022, for the removal of damaged and dead trees affected by the Mountain Pine Beetle.

Galesville Reservoir

  • NEW: Chief Miwaleta Park's boat ramp is out of the water. Paddlers can carry down to access the water.

Gold Lake

Grand Ronde Lake

  • UPDATE: The boat ramp and campground are open. Located approximately two miles from Anthony Lake, this is a great location for kayaking, standup paddle boarding and angling. Seasonal closure begins September 30.

Green Peter Reservoir

Haystack Reservoir

  • UPDATE: The reservoir is at 48%. The boat ramps are closed due to the low water. Paddlecraft can be carried down. 

Heart Lake

  • NEW: The boat ramp is closed until October 7, while ODFW deploys rotenone treatment to remove invasive fish.

Hells Canyon Reservoir

  • Copperfield boat launch is open and the dock is floating.

Hills Creek Reservoir

  • Bingham and CT Beach are closed.

  • UPDATE:  Packard Creek boat ramp has more than 20 feet of water at the bottom of the boat ramp.

Howard Prairie Lake

  • Grizzly Park, Klum Landing, Willow Point, and Howard Prairie Resort are closed for the season. The water level is approximately 6% full. Small boats can use the unimproved access near the dam.

Jubilee Lake

  • UPDATE: Access to the lake will close on October 15. Water is turned off on September 30 and trash service ends on October 4. Located approximately 20 miles from Elgin, this high-elevation lake is nice for kayaking and boats with small electric motors only. The boat ramp and campground are open.

Kingsley Reservoir aka Green Point Reservoir

  • The boat ramp on Kingsley Reservoir in Hood River County is now open. The campground is still closed. There is a parking fee of $5.00 or an annual pass for $30.00. County Parking Passes can be purchased at the Hood River County website. Parking Passes | Hood River County

Klamath Lake

  • The Odessa boat launch is steep but can be used by small boats and paddlecraft to launch. This site is located approximately 35 minutes west of Klamath Falls. Odessa's peaceful and secluded setting is situated on the Klamath Basin Birding Trail and affords many opportunities to view bird life.

  • The Rocky Point Day Use area and Boat Launch are located approximately 30 minutes northwest of Klamath Falls. The boat ramp is on Recreation Creek, which connects with the Upper Klamath Canoe Trail. Boaters can paddle a 10-mile loop marked with signs and interpretive displays for the National Wildlife Refuge.

Lake Billy Chinook

  • UPDATE: The Cove Palisades Resort and Marina wave attenuator anchors are being installed this week. The pumpout and dump station will be winterized on October 15 and the marina closes at the end of October. 
  • NEW:  Cove Palisades State Park – Lower Deschutes Day Use facility closed September 25 for the winter season. 

  • NEW: Crooked River Day Use and Upper Deschutes Day Use boat ramps will stay open year-round.
     
  • NEW: Perry South Day Use is open pending road conditions.

Lake Harriet

  • The facility is open pending road conditions. The lake is ONLY accessible by Highway 26 and Skyline because Highway 224 is closed at Ripplebrook.

Lake Owyhee Reservoir

  • UPDATE: Indian Creek has approximately three feet of water at the bottom of the boat ramp. Please avoid power loading your boat on and from your trailer. Power loading and unloading can damage the boat ramp's lower portion, causing expensive repairs and permitting.

Lake Simtustus

  • NEW: Pelton Park Marina closes for the season after October 31. Call the marina for hours of operation at 541-475-0516.

Lava Lake

Lemolo Lake

Little Cultus Lake

  • UPDATE: Access is closed due to the Cedar Creek fire.

Little Lava Lake

Lookout Point Reservoir

  • UPDATE:  Black Canyon is closed for the season.

  • Meridian boat ramp and Hampton Landing are out of the water and unusable.

  • There is more than 50 feet of water over the bottom of the boat ramp at Signal Point launch.

Loon Lake

  • NEW: Loon Lake Recreation Site closed for the season on September 25. The East Shore Campground is open through the end of November and the Day Use Area is open year around. Paddlecraft can carry down from the Day Use Area.

Lost Creek Reservoir

  • UPDATE: Water is approximately three feet below the Joseph Stewart boat ramp. The Takelma boat ramp has more than 30 feet of water at the bottom of the boat ramp. The boarding docks were damaged and removed

Middle Fork Willamette River

  • UPDATE:  Elijah Bristow State Park is being used as a staging area for fire personnel and is closed to the public during this time.

Miller Lake

  • NEW: The docks will be removed on October 4 from the Digit Point boat launch.

Necanicum River

  • The river is low and in summer flows. Drift boat runs are too low to safely navigate. Kayaking is still a great way to explore this river.

Nestucca River

  • The river is low and in summer flows. Drift boaters should expect to need to drag their boat over shallow areas on all sections above Cloverdale.

North Fork Reservoir

  • NEW: Promontory Park Marina closes for the season after October 31. Call the marina for hours of operation at 503-630-5152.

  • NEW: North Fork Lower Launch closes for the season after October 31.

North Santiam River

  • UPDATE:  Packsaddle Park is hosting the annual Marion Soil and Water District Salmon Watch. School groups will be at the park from 9:00 am to 2:15 pm on September 20-23, September 26-30 and October 11-13.
  • UPDATE: Greens Bridge gate is open. For information about boating hazards and obstructions visit the Obstructions Dashboard.

North Twin Lake

North Umpqua River

  • UPDATE: The contractor is making good progress on the improvements. The upper portion of the boat ramp is finished, stormwater, curbing and sidewalks are in process. The boat ramp and adjacent parking lot on the east side of the railroad trestle will be closed beginning August 22 through October 15, 2022. Improvements include replacing the upper portion of the boat ramp, paving the parking, creating a nonmotorized boat staging area, and installation of stormwater treatment structures. Access to the camping area, pavilion, trails, and parking west of the trestle will be open. The contractor is actively working.
  • The Bogus raft launch was destroyed in the Archie Creek fire.  U.S. Forest Service is planning to rebuild the launch in the future. 

Ochoco Lake

  • The reservoir is 0% full and down to the original waterway. The boat ramp is closed.

Odell Lake

  • UPDATE: Princess Creek, Sunset Cove and Trapper Creek boating facilities are open

Prineville Reservoir

  • All boat ramps on Prineville Reservoir are out of the water. Hand launching kayaks, canoes and standup paddleboards can be done at Prineville Reservoir State Park. The reservoir is 10% full.

Rogue River

  • UPDATE: Galice boat ramp and Almeda boat ramp are open.

  • UPDATE: Baker Park will be closed beginning the week of September 26 depending on the weather. The sidewalk repairs and asphalt parking surfacing improvements hope to be completed before the end of October.

  • UPDATE: Argo and Rand boating access are closed due to the Rum Creek Fire.

  • Ennis Riffle, Indian Mary Park, Hog Creek boat ramp and Robertson Bridge boat ramp are open.

  • Ferry Hole has a small drop-off at the end of the boat ramp with cavities on the downstream side. Use caution when launching or retrieving. 

  • Grave Creek boat landing is closed due to the Rum Creek Fire. 

  • Griffin Park boat ramp is short and stops on a gravel bar. Adjacent to the boat ramp is a large gravel/sandy area to launch and retrieve. The site is recommended for rafts, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards.

  • Lathrop Landing boat ramp has a buildup of sediment making the launch shallow which will require you to back further into the water to launch or retrieve. 

  • Schroeder Park has a large drop-off at the boat ramp. Use caution when launching or retrieving.

  • Chinook Park boat ramp has an approximate eight-inch drop-off at the end of the ramp. When launching at certain river flows be prepared for the current to push you into a small rock barb and riffle.

  • Pierce Riffle has a gravel bar just past the end of the boat ramp on the upstream side.

  • The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is completing maintenance dredging and will also dredge a large gravel bar at the entrance of the boat basin. Work is scheduled to be completed by late October 2022. Corps awards $5 million contract for Rogue River dredging at Gold Beach > Portland District > Portland District News Releases (army.mil) 

South Twin Lake

  • UPDATE: Access is closed due to the Cedar Creek fire.

Spring Creek

  • Collier Memorial Park has a new kayak dock that is very popular. When paddling please be respectful of this unique waterbody and only use designated put-in and take-out locations. 

Summit Lake

  •  Summit Lake is closed.

 Tillamook Bay

  •  Memaloose County Park is severely shoaled in, making launching and retrieving difficult. Monitor the tides closely.

Timothy Lake

  • NEW: The lake is dropping approximately four inches per week to winter levels. Beware of submerged and partially submerged hazards such as rocks and stumps.
     
  • NEW: Pine Point Day Use and West Shore are open pending road conditions.
     
  • NEW: West Shore Day Use. The nonmotorized launch is open pending road conditions.
     
  • NEW: North Arm Day Use and Oak Fork Day Use closed for the season in mid-September.

Toketee Lake

  • This lake is located approximately 60 miles east of Roseburg. The boat ramp is open and launches into a narrow channel to the main body of the lake. Angling and paddling are popular activities.  

Trojan Pond

  • NEW: Trojan Park is open year-round for paddling and day use. 

Tualatin River

  • UPDATE:  Rood Bridge's seasonal closure coming soon. The City of Hillsboro anticipates the closure before September 30.

  • Rivergrove boat ramp is out of the water. Paddlecraft can carry down to launch and retrieve. Trailered boats should use Cook Park in Tigard.

Umpqua River

  • Oregon Health Authority has issued a permanent recreational use advisory from the mainstem Umpqua River downstream past Elkton to Lawson Bar. Pools in the bedrock along the river's edge are known to develop cyanobacteria blooms.

Unity Reservoir

  • UPDATE: The boat docks have been removed. There is approximately two feet of water at the bottom of the boat ramp at Unity Lake State Park. Small boats and paddlecraft are recommended. Power loading and unloading can damage the boat ramp's lower portion, causing expensive repairs and permitting.

Upper Klamath Lake

  • UPDATE: Still in effect, Oregon Health Authority issued a recreational use health advisory on July 1 for areas around Eagle Ridge County Park due to the presence of cyanobacteria bloom and cyanotoxins above recreational use values for human exposure. 

Waldo Lake

Warner Valley Complex

  • Campbell, Turpin and Alkali Lakes canoe launches are closed due to low water.

Wickiup Reservoir

  • UPDATE: Access is closed for the Cedar Creek fire. The reservoir is 5% full.

Willamette River
Lower (Columbia River to Willamette Falls)

  • UPDATE: Sportcraft Landing, the bridge contractor is no longer in the lower parking area, but they are using the upper parking area. The Jon Storm Park dock, restrooms and pumpout and dump station are open, but the parking lot will be closed until the completion of the I-205 bridge widening project.

  • ODOT will be doing repair work on the St. Johns Bridge columns this year. Portland Parks and Recreation does not anticipate any impact to the boat ramp and docks. There may be minor if any impact on the boater parking area. The two N. Philadelphia Avenue frontage roads connecting North Syracuse and North Willamette Avenues will close. The southern frontage road will remain open to local access. Additional information can be found on the ODOT project page. 

Middle (Willamette Falls to Salem)

Upper (Salem to Eugene)

  • UPDATE: Buena Vista County Park is closed. The contractor has not followed its schedule and Polk County is pursuing corrective actions. Unfortunately, it appears that the work will not be completed on time, and boaters and park users may be impacted next year. Improvements include a boat ramp, boarding docks, lower parking area, vault toilet, and access road. During construction, there is no boating access at the park.

Willow Lake

  • UPDATE:  Willow Lake Park boat ramp is out of the water. The temporary ramp is useable for small boats and paddlecraft. Use caution when launching.
