Opportunities and Access Report

Opportunities and Access Report page graphic

As facilities close with the fall and winter seasons, the Opportunities and Access Report will "fall" in frequency.
The OAR will pause during the winter months.

November 22, 2023

Winter conditions have set in along the Cascade Lakes Highway. Please be prepared that many recreation sites & roads are under significant snow. Forest Service roads are not maintained or plowed for winter conditions. The Forest Service recommends, If you encounter 3" or more of snow, it's a good idea to turn around as conditions are not likely to improve.

West Bend Area Trail and Road Closures. The Forest Service is experiencing increased violations of trail closure areas associated with restoration work being completed.  To avoid expanded closure areas and restoration work delays, the Forest Service asks for people to stay out of closed areas. Notice

Last Call: We need the recreational boating community's feedback on the condition and need for boating access improvements statewide by November 30. The online survey takes 2 to 3 minutes per site to complete.

Seeking Water Trail Development Volunteers: Are you interested in being a part of the development of a Yamhill and South Yamhill River Water Trail? Please email your name, phone number, and if you are affiliated with an organization to our Administrative Specialist at ann.fleckner@boat.oregon.gov
