Poster Contest
The National Missing Children's Day Poster Contest is an annual event held in conjunction with National Missing Children's Awareness Day observed each year on May 25th since proclaimed by President Reagan in 1983 in memory of Etan Patz, a 6-year-old boy who disappeared from a New York City street corner on May 25, 1979. The Missing Children's Day Poster Contest allows schools, law enforcement, and other community organizations to engage children and their parents in discussions about child safety. All 5th-grade students are eligible to submit a poster for the contest. One winning poster is chosen in Oregon each year, and the winner's class will receive a pizza party and an award ceremony.
