Frequently Asked Questions Regarding the Sex Offender Annual Registration Fees
Why am I getting billed?
The statute for payment is listed on the invoice. If you are: A) a registered sex offender in Oregon; B) living, working, and/or going to school in Oregon, and; C) not on supervision (for the sex crime that requires you to report) on your DOB for the year being billed, you will be sent an invoice and required to pay the registration fee.
Can I make payment arrangements?
Yes, but they must be approved by Oregon State Police (OSP) management. You will need to call (503) 934-0025 or e-mail
askSOR@osp.oregon.gov to make payment arrangements.
Please note: If you are on a payment plan already with the OSP Sex Offender Registration (SOR) Section, you must contact us if you want this new fee added to your current plan. You may not make payments for future fee invoicing cycles.
I have questions regarding relief from reporting. Who do I contact?
The Board of Parole and Post-Prison Supervision at (503) 945-7794. You can also gain information from their website:
I already paid this, so why am I getting another bill?
Please note the time period that the invoice refers to. If your payment wasn’t recorded by the time the invoice was generated, you will have received another notice.
I no longer live, work, or go to school in Oregon. Do I have to pay?
Oregon law requires any change of residence, including moves out of state be reported in person to a registering agency in Oregon. If this was not done you will need to return to one of Oregon’s registering agencies and do this. If you did this but moved after your date of birth for the invoiced year then you still owe the amount due.
I was granted relief of registration. Do I have to pay?
In order for you to be removed from the registry the SOR Section must receive a certified copy of the court order that relieves you from the requirement to report for registration. If you were relieved from your reporting requirement after your birthday that year, you are still subject to the annual fee for that year. You will not be invoiced for subsequent years.
