Retirement application assistance sessions

Retirement application assistance sessions (RAAS) are by appointment only and conducted by phone or in person. PERS cannot accept walk-ins for RAAS. A RAAS is a one-on-one meeting with a PERS staff member to review your retirement application forms. You should schedule your RAAS so that your appointment occurs within the 90 days before your desired retirement date.

PERS will continue to add in-person RAAS appointment options. Check the RAAS registration website for updates on in-person appointments.

A RAAS is a 45-minute, one-on-one appointment with a PERS staff member to review your PERS Retirement Application forms. You can attend a RAAS within 90 days of your expected retirement date.

You will receive a comprehensive review of your application and forms to ensure accuracy and completeness. We will notarize the application at no cost to you*. We will also explain the retirement process so you will have a full understanding of next steps and any further action required on your part.

*Notary service is not available for retirement assistance sessions conducted by phone.

PERS staff will not provide guidance or direction on what retirement benefit to choose. To best prepare for your retirement, we recommend you attend an education session (Tier One/Tier Two, OPSRP), which PERS offers throughout the state. PERS also encourages you to complete as much of your application as possible prior to your RAAS. PERS also provides an instructional video to assist Tier One/Tier Two members with filling out the Service Retirement Application.

A RAAS is not intended for disability-related retirement, withdrawal applications nor for beneficiary death benefit forms. Contact PERS Member Services for more information.

Register for a RAAS appointment with TimeTap, PERS' registration website. You can select a location or phone appointment, whichever is most convenient for you. Additional locations and appointments will continue to be added. Check back for availability, or look for events at another location.
