Charter school salary fix bill

This bill is an omnibus education bill. Contained within this bill is a clarification that narrowed the provisions of SB 111 (2021) regarding salary paid to Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan (OPSRP) members of charter schools. This narrowing ensures that the retroactive application does not apply to every charter school employer, but only those charter schools that promised their out of state employees PERS benefits in writing and that made contributions to PERS on their behalf.

SB 1525

Federal tax reconnect bill
Updates “connection date" to Internal Revenue Code to December 31, 2021, or January 1, 2022, depending on the section. The code is federal tax law, and a connection date helps identify the version of the code that the state of Oregon references in its own laws, including the Oregon statutes governing PERS.
