Welcome to the Workers' Compensation Board

Mission statement

Our mission here at the Workers' Compensation Board is to provide timely and impartial resolution of disputes arising under Oregon Workers' Compensation Law and the Oregon Safe Employment Act.

Who we are

The Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) is an independent adjudicatory agency within the Department of Consumer and Business Services. WCB has three divisions. These include the WCB Hearings Division, in which administrative law judges (ALJs) conduct contested case hearings, the Board Review Division comprised of five permanent board members appointed by the governor, who provide balanced and unbiased case review, and the Administrative Services Division that provides business and operational support to the agency.

  • Conduct Board Review of appealed cases
  • Approve settlements 
  • Review Own Motion disputes
  • Resolve Third Party and Crime Victim disputes
  • Conduct hearings on OR-OSHA citations under the Oregon Safe Employment Act
