After the posted closing date, a recruiter will review completed application materials and will assess the general qualifications of applicants. Items considered during this screening process include applicable work experience and education or training, orientation toward teamwork and customer service, communication and problem solving skills, overall stability and quality of prior work history, overall presentation of application materials, and various other factors which work to best meet the requirements of the business line. It is important to remember that the applicant with the highest educational degree or most years of work experience may not be the best qualified applicant.

Thorough reference and/or background checks are completed on all final applicants prior to our making an offer of employment. This also applies to internal (agency or state) applicants. A history of workplace harassment, discrimination, inappropriate conduct, or poor performance or attendance may disqualify you from the hiring process. Additional background research or verification on finalist(s) may be necessary for certain types of positions prior to an offer of employment. These may include but are not limited to a review of criminal convictions, credit history, motor vehicle driving records, and random or pre-employment drug screening.
