A project planned for 2015 is currently being designed to strengthen the Tualatin River Bridge on OR 99W in the southbound direction only. The bridge is located on OR 99W between King City and Tualatin.
The Tualatin River Bridge was built in 1929. Recent load rating shows members of the bridge steel deck truss are low in loading capacity, and the bridge has been posted with weight limits. Strengthening of the steel deck truss is needed in order to ensure structural sufficiency and lift the load weight limits.
Project elements include strengthening the steel deck truss upper, lower and diagonal members and touch-up painting of select members. The majority of the work will take place under the southbound bridge.
