Current Status
Construction began in May 2013 and will be complete by fall 2013.
Construction Impacts
Motorists can expect:daytime and nighttime lane closures with flaggers directing traffic on U.S. 30 and up to 20-minute delays
driveways and cross-streets will be temporarily blocked while the grinding and paving operation moves past them. Motorists will still be able to access these driveways and cross-street by driving past the the paving area, making a u-turn and approach from the other side of the highway
work will occur primarily on weekdays
no lane closures during morning and afternoon rush hours, during the day on weekends or on holidays
in late summer 2013, U.S. 30 will be reduced to one lane in each direction around the clock for four days at Cornelius Pass Road while the contractor applies the waterproof membrane to the bridge over McCarthy Creek. During this same time, Cornelius Pass Road will also be closed to all traffic as part of a separate safety improvement project (more information). This closure will occur between 10 p.m. on a Friday to 4:30 a.m. on the following Wednesday
Construction noise may be audible to residents living in the project area during work hours.
Residents with noise complaints during construction may call the 24-hour noise complaint hotline: 503-646-0231.

apply a waterproof membrane to the bridge over McCarthy Creek, just east of Cornelius Pass Road, to reduce deterioration of the structure
repair the shoulders
ODOT is also constructing a safety improvement project on U.S. 30 at Cornelius Pass road in 2013. More information about this project.
