Interstate 84

Nov. 22 - Nov. 29, 2014*

*Schedules are subject to change due to weather and site conditions.

I-84 Troutdale Interchange at Exit 17
Project Description:  The project will widen Marine Drive between the two frontage roads to allow for two-way traffic. It will also replace the existing I-84 overpass bridges at Marine Drive with a new bridge. The Marine Drive intersections at the Frontage Roads will also be improved.
Traffic Impacts:  * Note: work has been rescheduled from the week of Nov. 10 to the week of Nov. 17 due to weather conditions (see updates below).

On Friday, November 21 at 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, November 24 Marine Drive will be closed southbound under I-84. Traffic will be detoured at Marine Drive onto I-84 westbound. Travelers will then take exit 16 (Wood Village/238th), to cross over the overpass and return onto I-84 eastbound. The contractor will demolish the old overpass during this closure.

Daytime shoulder closures are expected on the westbound traffic lanes on North Frontage Road and are shifted approximately 4 feet to the south as they approach Marine Drive.

Drivers should exercise caution as large construction equipment may be operating in the right hand shoulder of this area.  Night time lane closures may occur on freeways and frontage roads as the contractor hauls material around the site.

Interstate 84 at the Sandy River and Jordan Road Bridges
Project Description: This project replaces two bridges on I-84 over the Sandy River east of exit 17 in Troutdale, and repairs two bridges over Jordan Road east of the Sandy River at exit 18.
Traffic Impacts: The speed limit is reduced to 50 mph in both directions on I-84 over the Sandy River and over Jordan Road east of the Sandy River (exit 18). Watch for roadside construction crews and occasional overnight single lane closures.

Expect brief delays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. while traffic is controlled by flaggers on Jordan Road at I-84. Sandy River users at I-84, watch for work crews near and over the waterway and watch for work crews on bicycle-pedestrian paths.

Watch for pedestrians, roadside work crews and construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway. Please obey parking restrictions and drive carefully through the work zone.

Approach the work areas with caution, stay clear of construction activities and obey instructions from flaggers.
