Oregon 99W (Pacific Highway West)

August 29 - September 5, 2015*

No work will take place between Friday, September 4 at noon and Monday, September 7 in observance of the Labor Day holiday.  ​

Oregon Highway 99W at Southwest Gaarde/McDonald Street intersection

Project Description: The intersection improvement project on Oregon Highway 99 West, from the Southwest Gaarde Street/McDonald Street intersection to Bull Mountain Road in the City of Tigard, will include adding turn lanes on OR 99W, an additional southbound lane on OR 99W southbound and an additional lane on Southwest Gaarde Street and Southwest McDonald Street. Work should be complete by the end of 2015.

Traffic Impacts: The construction crew is currently installing median, curbs and sidewalk, landscaping, water quality systems, electrical systems, new signal poles and paving along OR 99W, Southwest Gaarde Street and Southwest McDonald Street. 

Travelers can expect daytime and nighttime work Monday through Friday. Travelers can expect:​ 

    • Temporary striping on OR 99W has been installed approaching the intersection with Southwest Gaarde Street/McDonald Street and traffic is temporarily shifted towards the shoulders to accommodate median construction. Travel lanes will be slightly narrowed.
    • Nighttime lane closures on OR 99W from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for signal pole removal.
    • Nighttime lane closures on OR 99W from August 31 to September 13 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for pavement removal and replacement.
    • Nighttime and early morning travelers should expect traffic delays due to pavement removal and replacement activities.
    • Flaggers will be present for traffic safety.

Oregon Highway 99W at Tualatin River Bridge

​Project Description: This project will remove rust then repair and repaint the Tualatin River Bridge on OR 99W in the southbound direction only. The bridge is located between King City and Tualatin.

Traffic Impacts: No traffic impacts as crews complete work on the roadway shoulder.

Oregon Highway 99W – Pacific Highway at Tualatin National Wildlife Refuge

Project Description: This project will widen OR 99W southbound at the Tualatin National Wildlife Refuge in order to build a dedicated right-turn lane for southbound travelers entering the Refuge, which is located between King City and Sherwood.

Traffic Impacts: The construction team is mobilizing to the site the week of August 31 and will begin installation of temporary signs, erosion control and construction access, in advance of started earthwork associated with the roadway widening.

Travelers can expect a daytime southbound right lane closure on OR 99W, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge will remain open during construction but expect partial closure of the Refuge driveway during work hours. Travelers should also be aware of construction vehicles exiting and entering the roadway at the site.

​Oregon Highway 99W – North Denver Avenue – from North Victory Boulevard to North Argyle Street

Project Description: This project is rehabilitating and repaving the OR 99W (North Denver Avenue) bridge from North Victory Boulevard to North Argyle Street. The North Schmeer Road/Denver Avenue intersection and southbound ramp from North Victory Boulevard to North Denver Avenue will be realigned. The work is expected to be complete in the fall of 2015.

Traffic Impacts: Travelers should expect nighttime southbound closures on OR 99W (North Denver Avenue) from North Victory Boulevard to North Argyle Street Monday, August 31 to Thursday, September 3 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. with closures in both directions on Wednesday, September 2. There will be daytime shoulder closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. (except Friday when work will end at noon). Please note: closures are for sealing the joints and permanent striping which are weather dependent and work schedules may change on short notice.
