Oregon 99W (Pacific Highway West)

July 4 - 11, 2015*

No work will take place between Friday, July 3 and Sunday, July 5 in observance of the public holiday.

Oregon Highway 99W at Southwest Gaarde/McDonald Street intersection

Project Description: The intersection improvement project on Oregon Highway 99 West, from the Southwest Gaarde Street/McDonald Street intersection to Bull Mountain Road in the City of Tigard, will include adding turn lanes on OR 99W, an additional southbound lane on OR 99W southbound and an additional lane on Southwest Gaarde Street and Southwest McDonald Street. Work should be complete by the end of 2015.

Traffic Impacts: The construction crew is currently installing storm pipe, retaining walls, curbs and sidewalks, driveways, light pole foundations, signal pole foundations and paving along OR 99W, Southwest Gaarde Street and Southwest McDonald Street.

Travelers can expect mostly nighttime work and minor daytime work Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10.  Travelers can expect:​ 

    • Nighttime lane closures on OR 99W (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.). Temporary striping on OR 99W will be installed approaching the intersection with Southwest Gaarde Street/McDonald Street and traffic will be temporarily shifted towards the shoulders to accommodate median construction. Travel lanes will be slightly narrowed and the right turn only pocket from OR 99W southbound to Southwest Gaarde will be temporarily removed.
    • Daytime lane closures on Southwest Gaarde Street (7 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and shoulder work (4 to 5 p.m.).
    • Daytime lane closures on Southwest McDonald Street (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and shoulder work (7 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m.). 
    • Flaggers will be present for traffic safety, as needed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
    • Sidewalks on the west side of OR 99W and on the north side of Southwest Gaarde Street will reopen the week of July 6.

Oregon Highway 99W at Tualatin River Bridge

​Project Description: This project will remove rust then repair and repaint the Tualatin River Bridge on OR 99W in the southbound direction only. The bridge is located between King City and Tualatin.

Traffic Impacts:Expect daytime single southbound lane closures on OR 99W as crews install the work platform under the bridge from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

​Oregon Highway 99W – North Denver Avenue – from North Victory Boulevard to North Argyle Street

Project Description: This project is rehabilitating and repaving the OR 99W (North Denver Avenue) bridge from North Victory Boulevard to North Argyle Street. The North Schmeer Road/Denver Avenue intersection and southbound ramp from North Victory Boulevard to North Denver Avenue will be realigned. The work is expected to be complete in the fall of 2015.

Traffic Impacts: The southbound lanes of OR 99W (North Denver Avenue) between North Victory Boulevard and North Argyle Street will be closed through Monday, July 20, 2015.  The Columbia Slough Trail will be closed between Whitaker Road just west of North Denver Avenue during this same time. Detour signs are posted for bikes and pedestrians.​
