| Project Summary |
|
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is planning a 2.3-mile paving project on Powell Boulevard (U.S. Highway 26) between SE 51st Avenue and SE 50th Avenue. The roadway has deteriorated from high usage and is severely rutted in a number of locations.
As part of the paving project, sidewalk ramps will be brought into ADA compliance and two new pedestrian mid-block crossings will be installed near SE 57th Avenue and SE 75th Avenue.
Proposed Project Improvements
* 127 reconstructed sidewalk ramps
* 48 new sidewalk ramps
* 2 new marked pedestrian crossings between 57th & 58th Avenues and at SE 75th Avenue
* 8 new vegetated stormwater treatment planters
* Over 10,000 tons of new asphalt surfacing
* Extended Left Turn Storage at SE 86th Ave. and Powell Blvd
Construction is expected to begin in early 2010 and be completed by the end of that year.
