Ft. Creek looking upstream where it passes under OR 62.
|
The purpose of the project is two fold. The two existing 48-inch corrugated metal culverts at Ft. Creek are deteriorating and need to be replaced. They also restrict resident fish passage. The culverts restrict the flow causing a damming of the creek. The upstream ends of the culverts are lower than the downstream ends, creating a whirlpool upstream and pressurized flow through the culverts. The fast moving water is a barrier for fish. The culverts will be replaced by a bridge.
