ODOT Invites Public to
Crooked River Highway Project Open House
The Oregon Department of Transportation invites the public to an open house to gather and share information on the Crooked River Highway Project (OR27). The meeting will be held on April 5, 2004 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at Prineville City Hall, City Council Chambers. ODOT representatives will be available to discuss construction plans and specifications, the project schedule, and the temporary traffic control plan.
The Crooked River Highway Project will enhance the safety, convenience, and movement of people and traffic within and through the community of Prineville. The project includes widening and the installation of new sidewalks, curbs and storm water pipes along the eastside of Main Street (OR27) from SE 3rd Street to the Fairgrounds entrance. A left turn lane will be added at the intersection of Main Street and Lynn Boulevard. Additionally, a new layer of pavement will be added on Main Street (OR27) beginning at SE 3rd Street (three blocks south on Main Street from the Bowman Museum) and extending 3-1/4 miles past the Fairgrounds entrance.
Work will begin in April 2004 and is expected to be completed in July 2004. During working hours, traffic will be reduced to one lane and delays of 10 to 20 minutes are anticipated.
The cost of this project is $1.1 million.
