UPDATE: Week of July 23, 2007
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is continuing to invest in Oregon’s future with roadway improvement projects throughout Oregon’s central region (ODOT Region 4). ODOT is committed to providing safe, efficient transportations systems. The following projects reflect ODOT’s commitment to make improvements as traffic numbers rise and to make the roadways safer and more efficient for drivers:
ALL WORK IS DEPENDENT UPON WEATHER
CROOK COUNTY
OR 126 (Ochoco Highway), MP 17.9, West of Prineville
JAL Construction Company is constructing a new bridge located over the Crooked River Bridge on the west end of Prineville.
For the week of July 23rd the contractor will be working outside of the roadway. No delays are expected.
DESCHUTES COUNTY
US 20 (Central Oregon Highway) from Hamptonto Glass Butte(MP 62.07 to MP 74.67)
There will be no construction activity that will entail lane closure and or restriction to traffic during this week. Activities shall involve shoulder clean up and potential shoulder construction.
US 97 (The Dalles-California Highway) at the South Century Drive (Sunriver) interchange (MP 152.25 to MP 153.66)
Crews commencing with dirt work operations. No impact to traffic is anticipated during this week.

US 97 (The Dalles – California Highway) MP 141.00 to MP 146.49, South of Bend, Village Way – Lava Butte & US 97 @China Hat, Safety Improvement Project,
Northbound and Southbound single lane closure shall be in place starting Sunday evening at 10:00pm. Closures Monday through Thursday night start at 6:00 PM with closed lanes open to traffic by 7:00 AM of the respective morning in all cases. Work shall entail aggregate shoulder placement between mile post 141 to 146.
US97 @ RedmondReroute:
Oregon Mainline Paving will be closing Antler Ave. in Redmond on the West side of the Rail Road Tracks starting July 25th for a duration of 21 calendar days in order to construct the intersection with the Redmond Reroute. Though the final configuration for Antler will be a "Right-In", "Right-Out" for both North and Southbound access to the Reroute, the Contractor has agreed to install a Temporary Surface where the Reroute median would divide the lanes of travel, and re-open Antler to East West travel until the final stages of the Project. August 14th is the Contractors deadline to have Antler Ave opened. This agreement to leave out the Center median will help East West traffic during the up-coming "Evergreen Ave Closure".
JEFFERSON COUNTY
US 97 (The Dalles-California Highway), MP 78.2, MP 78.5 & MP 90.1, north of Madras
High Desert Paving and Aggregate is working to replace an existing Bridge at Hay Creek, MP 78.2, with a multi-plate pipe, replacing a cattle pass culvert at MP 78.7, and replacing an Irrigation Canal Bridge, MP 90.1, with a box culvert.
There will be no on-site work the week of July 23.
KLAMATH COUNTY
OR 140 (Lake of the Woods Highway) MP 62.5 to MP 68.8
- Shoulder work
- Paving
- Guardrail construction
Minor delays expected, Traffic controlled by flaggers and closure of passing lanes.
WASCO COUNTY
I-84(Columbia River Highway), MP 69.6 (Mosier) and MP 82.6 (The Dalles)
Wildish Standard Paving Company is working to repair two bridges on Interstate 84, Mosier Creek Bridge, and Hostettler overpass bridge. During bridge repair minimal lane closures will occur in order to adequately repair cracks in the bridges.
During the week of July 23rd – July 29th contractor will be performing crack injections on both bridges. Lane closures will occur starting at 6:00 p.m. and potentially running until 7:00 a.m. No time delays are expected.
WHEELER COUNTY
US 26 (Ochoco Highway), MP 45-50 & 60 – 81.6, Mitchell Area
Tidewater, Inc. is working to replace two existing Bridges on Bridge Creek at approximate MP 65.7. One Bridge will be replaced this Summer (07) and the other will be replaced the following Summer (08). During bridge replacement traffic will be routed around a short detour adjacent to the bridges. Access will be maintained to the two businesses between the bridges, Cannon’s Tire Center & Route 26 Espresso. The contractor will also be performing paving over the 36 mile project length to improve the existing pavement structure.
During the week of July 16th- July 22nd grading, base rock placement and other miscellaneous work will be performed on the detour with no delays to the traveling public.
Temporary Signs and guardrail installation will occur on Highway 26. Guardrail installation will take place east of Mitchell with minimal delays of less than 5 minutes.
