6A/7A.Traffic Incident Management Workshop
  Instructor: David Moyer, ODOT; Todd Mundinger, ODOT; Rob Yencopal, Corvallis Fire Department; Jeff Lewis, OSP; and Greg McClellan, Oregon Tow Truck Association
This new multi-disciplinary national training program is building a cadre of well-trained emergency responders who can work together as a team in a coordinated manner, from the moment the first emergency call is made, to the correct deployment of response vehicles and equipment, to a safe work area using traffic control devices, to final scene clearance. . The training brings together police, firefighters, State and local departments of transportation, towing, medical personnel, and other incident responders, leading to a safer, faster, integrated responder team.

6B/7B. It's Your Data, Use It! Workshop
            Moderator: Brian Dunn, ODOT
            Speakers:   Ted Trepanier, INRIX; Scott Harmon, David Evans and Associates;
       Krista Nordback, Portland State University; Joel McCarroll, Oregon DOT; and
       Tim Bates and Lisa Scherf, Corvallis Transit System

Every Oregon community, large and small, is generating data. The data vary in quantity and quality; data are often hard to access and confounding to use. This workshop will help you understand some of the most valuable kinds of data available in the transportation arena. The workshop will begin with a presentation by Ted Trepanier, an executive with INRIX, which is a company that analyzes traffic around the world using data from cell phones and other sources. A panel of speakers will offer real world examples of how they have herded and harvested this asset. The workshop has been designed to send you away with several concrete lessons that you can use immediately.
