Recently, Governor Kitzhaber announced appointments to the newly created Health Evidence Review Commission (HERC), will participate in the creation of a high value health care delivery system in Oregon. Created by legislation during the 2011 session, the HERC, effective January 1, 2012, will continue almost two decades of evidence-based work of the commissions it is replacing, the Health Services Commission and the Health Resources Commission. Appointees have been confirmed by the Senate and will hold the first meeting January 12, 2012.
