Temporary Rulemaking: Climate Protection Program 2022

The Department of Environmental Quality adopted a temporary rule for the Climate Protection Program. The purpose of this temporary rule is to clarify exemptions to the covered emissions of natural gas local distribution companies, as described in OAR 340-271-0110(4)(b)(B).

Public meeting

DEQ held a public meeting on Oct. 24, 2022, to present the proposed rule change and provide an opportunity for public comment.

DEQ accepted comments on the proposed rule amendment. DEQ considered comments received by 4 p.m. on Oct. 31, 2022. Written comments are available below. Oral comments provided at the public meeting are included in the meeting recording.
