Summer Food Service Programs (SFSP)

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a Federal program that sets standards and provides reimbursement for healthy meals and snacks served to eligible children. Historically, summer meals served through the SFSP and the National School Lunch (NSLP) Program reach only about 16 percent of the 21 million children receiving free or reduced-price lunches during the school year. The SFSP plays an integral role in giving eligible children and teens access to meals when school is not in session.
