U.S. 26: Glencoe to MP 53 Paving Project

Construction Phase

Region 1: Portland metro and Hood River County (North Plains, Washington)

ODOT will make several improvements to U.S. 26 (Sunset Highway) between NW Glencoe Road and Mile Post 53 from spring through fall 2017.


Traffic Impact

Periodic lane closures on U.S. 26 and daytime shoulder closures will continue this fall. 

Nighttime ramp closures are complete.

Construction Impacts

​Those located closest to the workzone may hear some nighttime noise. To report any nighttime noise concerns, call the 24-hour noise hotline at 503-412-2372.


Design - Spring through December 2016
Construction - Spring through Fall 2017



Key elements of the work will include:
  • Repaving both directions of U.S. 26.
  • Repaving some of the NW Wilson River Highway (OR 6) and the NW Dersham Road interchange ramps (Ramp work will require nighttime detours).
  • Adding cable median barrier.
  • Adding rumble strips.
  • Resurfacing four highway bridges.
  • Repaving the weigh station.
