About

This project will enhance pedestrian and bicycle safety in the city of Merrill. It continues the work of the Klamath, Lake and Deschutes County Curb Ramps Project, which constructed new curb ramps and sidewalks between Polk Street and Lincoln Street on the north side of OR 39 in 2023. The project will construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, bicycle facilities and two enhanced crossings from the east and west city limits to the limits of the Klamath, Lake and Deschutes County Curb Ramps project. Associated drainage facilities will also be constructed, along with upgraded signs and striping.

On the west side of the city, the intersection of Falvey Road and OR 39 will be realigned. Currently, this road forks into two different intersections as it approaches the highway, with one approach each for westbound and eastbound traffic. This intersection will be relocated to a single location to help enhance pedestrian safety.
