Advisory Council on Hearing Aids - Continuing Education

Licensees must complete and attest to 12 hours of continuing education each year.

All continuing education courses must be pre-approved by the Health Licensing Office. To obtain pre-approval, please submit a completed continuing education approval request form (below) to the HLO. Individual courses must be submitted for HLO approval prior to the date of the training.

Note: As outlined in OAR 331-650-0005(6), licensees must complete a two-hour course in safety and infection control once every two years; and (7) no more than three hours may be earned in one year for courses in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Resources

The International Institute for Hearing Instrument Studies is responsible for accrediting the International Hearing Society's education programs, including online distance learning courses and tests provided on its website.

CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens training

Blood borne pathogen courses must be compliant with U.S. Federal guidelines 29 CFR 1910.1030. CPR, first aid and blood borne pathogens training may be obtained through hands-on, online or blended course instruction.
